I love line-drying our diapers. There’s something seeing them hanging out there that makes me feel very peaceful. It feels good to know my clothes dryer isn’t eating up energy. It feels good to admire our beautiful collection of diapers. And it feels good to know that I’m not filling up garbage bags with disposable ones.

Do you line dry your diapers or clothes when the weather permits? I know some people dry in their garage or have other types of line drying systems set up. I would love to hear how you dry yours!

Just look how pretty!

At least…I think that’s an iris, right?

Then I got all motivated and decided to tackle this:

See, we live in a very old house with a very potentially cool backyard. Decades ago, I’m sure this was well maintained and just overflowing with gorgeous flowers. When it became ours, it was just a big ol’ heap of mess.

So I grabbed a hoe and I started in on it. And Elliott helped.

“Dirt? What dirt?? I would never eat dirt, Mommy!”

See, before that, she was clean. Before my sudden urge to get dirty took over, she looked all sweet and smelled sweet, too.

Anyhow, I did pretty well with the darn thing and then Shayne got home and chipped in. We were nasty, dirty and sweaty, but look how much better it already looks!

Still, it needs lots of love, flowers and maybe a bird bath? And we’ve got many, many flower beds that need love as bad or worse as this poor thing did. All in time. All in time.

Oh yeah. And then there is this.

Our neighbor who actually grew up across the street says it was a fish pond 50-60 years ago when she was a kid. It was painted green so the cats couldn’t see the fish and eat them all up. The question remains: What the heck do we do with it??? I’m open to suggestions!
