Elliott has a new little ballerina outfit, courtesy of our wonderful neighbors. She loves wearing the leotard, but she really really loves the shoes! The night that they were brand new, I had tucked her into bed and was just sure she was asleep, when all of a sudden she appears in the doorway and gives me a quick wave ‘hello’. She proceeded to sweetly walk over to my desk, get the ballet slippers and then disappear back into her bedroom. When I went to tuck her back in, I found her already back in bed with the shoes tucked neatly under her cheek. She fell asleep that way and looked like the sweetest sleepy ballerina in the world.
She asks to wear the outfit at least once a day and has become quite the prima ballerina.
Now if that doesn’t melt a mother’s heart, I don’t know what will. I love my little ballerina.
