You’ll love me forever (WINNER!)

If you’re like me, you sometimes get in a cooking rut. It becomes boring, routine and a complete chore. Well, nothing has brought me out of my kitchen blahs like the day I used my first Kuhn Rikon Nonstick knife. Back at Christmas time, I received a yellow one as a gift from my neighbor.

The first time I used it, I felt as if the clouds parted and beams of sunshine shone down into my kitchen. Preparing dinner became fun! Cutting was fast and effortless! It was a whole new world!
In true Abbie form, though, I managed to misplace the cover that goes over the blade. Have I ever mentioned how completely scatterbrained I am?? Oh. Well, I’m so very scatterbrained. See, these fun little things come looking like this:

Remove the cover and you have a beautifully colorful blade.

My yellow one is forever naked, though, as I’m quite sure that I tossed my cover in the trash during post-dinner clean-up the first night I used it. Yikes.
Since then, I’ve added to my knife drawer the periwinkle one above and these:

Trust me: While they look wonderfully fun in their playful colors, they don’t play around! They are super-duper sharp. They’ll slide through a raw steak like it’s melted butter. And veggies? No challenge at all!

It makes chopping up a quick, delicious salad way more fun than any plain ol’ knife! And just so you know what I’m eating as I type this up:

Seriously yummy.
Mmmm.
So…where were we? Oh. Yes. Knives.
Because I feel the need to share this knife obsession with the world, I grabbed a green one to give away. Why green? Because green rules.

See? It’s purdy. And it wants to be your friend.

Just want to say I have some knives like that from Rachel Ray’s collection….I love them too! And your salad looks yummy!
Oooh, lovely!!!
Well, I was going to throw some chicken in the oven, boil pasta and steamed veggies…you know, boring…but this, this is inspiring! I think I’m going to make a dish called Vegetarian Penne (it was the summer squash and mushrooms that did it)!
Tonight I’m thinking homemade pizza…BBQ chicken maybe and of course cheese for the girls.
Tonight is our “Pasta Night” so I’m thinking alfredo sauce and grilled chicken. And pasta of course

We are having a chicken thing with wing sauce and a beans and rice thing…I think…whatever emealz tells me we are eating. (Yes, I’m challenged in the kitchen.) Will this knife make me a better cook? Posting this on Facebook too!
My dinner was already going to be easy, but since Blake’s puking now, I’m really glad I was going to make this anyway! Spaghetti and meatballs, salad and garlic bread. My old stand by that EVERYONE will eat! (except maybe Blake today!

So cute! Are they coated steel then? They almost look like those ceramic blades.
Sadly, dinner tonight is just leftovers.
I’m on my own tonight so I’ll probably have a grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup but you never know……I might get creative and whip up something yummy for one!

Dinner tonight:
Summer Squash and Sausage Skillet
Carmelize some sliced sweet onions in a skillet… add your favorite fully-cooked sausage (or meatless sausage). Once browned to your liking, add slices of fresh summer squash – MY favorite is Patty Pan, but you can use crook neck or a blend of whatever is ripe! Cover and let steam until squash is tender. Mix in a bit of Zucchini if you like or add sweet bell peppers and/or mushrooms, too!!!
Simple and scrumptious!
I’m making pulled chicken (instead of pork) sandwiches! Cooked in the slow cooker until done, then adding the bbq sauce, shread & serve! Yum!
I’m making chicken spaghetti for dinner and could use a cute green knife to dice up the chicken =)
Spanish style burritos!
I’m making gluten free turkey meatloaf, mashed taters, and asparagus. Yum!
Lentil Taco salad and spanish rice. A cute green knife would have been great for chipping lettuce, tomato and onion!
I just finished cutting up potatoes with a not-so-sharp knife, so this looks positively dreamy! Tonight: chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and sugar snap peas.
I cooked Chicken Fired Rice.
Tonight I am making beef stew and a loaf of french bread, both home made.
Shrimp scampi, garlic bread and salad. Need one of those knives!
