Treat yourself….Amy Butler Style (WINNER)

I’ve never met a crafter that doesn’t just love Amy Butler fabrics, have you?  They’re gorgeous!  She never fails to have massive appeal when she releases a new collection and I find her prints very hard to resist.  Imagine my extreme pleasure when, through word of mouth, I discovered that there is a wonderful lady very near me who is an Amy Butler (and Heather Bailey!) retailer!  Amy Butler that I can lay my hands on, not pay shipping for and go pick up immediately?!  I’m in.  I’m all about the instant gratification.

After a few emails and a couple of phone calls, I headed out yesterday to meet Joy of A Joyful Soul Fabrics.  I walked through her lovely home to discover her fabric room.  It’s what dreams are made of.  Walls lined with shelves.  Shelves filled with the most beautiful fabrics on the market.  I was in heaven.  I drove her crazy, I’m sure, as I pulled out 2 bolts here, 3 here, and changed my mind no less than 87 times.  Who wouldn’t have trouble narrowing it down to 3 fabrics when you’re surrounded by a dizzying amount of Amy Butler and Heather Bailey??  Right?

So I made my fabric selections for Elliott’s Easter dress (another post on another day) and while she cut, we decided that we should do a giveaway.  I loved her idea of giving away this Amy Butler Lavender Eye Pillow sewing kit.

It’s not just the pattern and the fabric, it’s got the lavender-scented fill, too!  It’s all you need to pamper yourself at the end of a trying day.  And what a fun, quick project it will be to sew up!

I love the fabrics included for the slipcover and carrying case.

Gorgeous!

There are soo many beautiful Amy Butler and Heather Bailey fabrics that it is hard to choose a favorite! At the moment I am loving Amy Butler’s linen / optic blossom from her pink dahlia collection!! In terms of sewing projects, I plan on sewing the coffee date dress that I found on Burdastyle next! Thanks again for a chance to win this awesome giveaway!

I’m not sure I can choose a favorite, but I did love AB’s Midwest Modern line from a couple years ago. I also love that she offers her prints in home dec weights! :D I have too many projects to name right now, mostly for other people. ;)

I’m a HUGE fan of most fabrics from her Lotus line. I’m planning to sew a few rice heat pillows, baby tag blankets and a new purse for me pretty soon!

I don’t have a project lined up, but I’ve always been a big fan of Amy Butler fabric! I love the Lotus line – and would like to make a bag with some. But, first I’d probably have to get my hands on a sewing machine!

I don’t have a favorite but this looks like a great beginner project. I knit and crochet but haven’t gotten into sewing. I love lavender though. And that fabric is great.

I also think it’s so hard to choose a favorite, but if I *had* to I would go with something from either of Amy Butler’s “Midwest Modern” lines. I have a few butterflies to finish for a mobile in my girls’ room, and then I’m hoping to find some extra minutes in the day to work on some warm-weather dresses!

That’s like asking me who is my favorite child!!! ALL OF THEM! :D

I was in heaven to find they had AB paper as well. That’s my second love after fabric – paper.

Anyway! It’s not like I don’t have enough quilts on the go, but quick sewing projects like this are great in-betweeners.

Oh yum – the heather Bailey Nicey Jane line has me drooling….

Amy’sd Park Fountains in any colorway is just… oh my. LOVE. (that too! ;P )

I love the nicey Jane line from Heather and the new LOVE line from amy is TDF! I am working on Easter baskets right now and then dresses for my girls and a bowling shirt for my boy. The To Do list is a mile long.

Last year a friend offered to teach me to quilt and I hauled out my sewing machine again. Little did I know it would be the start of an obsession. At that time I had no idea who Amy Butler was (I know, horrors!) but chose fabrics from her midwest modern line for my first quilt. Thanks for the chance!

I love most all of her fabrics. I would pick one of her fabrics with green and cream (the decision would be tough) and make some cloth napkins.

I recently got the sling bag and apron patterns from Amy Butler and am getting started on Christmas gifts (you heard me right!)… I love the vibrant colors of her new Love collection (and think its awesome that it comes regular or laminated or double-sided).

  19. Katrina says

I love pretty much all of Amy Butler’s fabrics. :) My fave is Sandlewood Turquoise out of her LoVe line. Right now I have a few of my shirts that are being recon’d into dresses for DD. Also working on her memory quilt for her first year. And then I’ll start brainstorming Christmas ideas. Gotta start early :)

How do I pick just one? They’re all lovely and I can think of projects I want to make with them all. I think my favorite is from her lotus line. I’ve made her weekender bag several times, but each time the bag was immediately claimed by a family member. The next one is mine!
