We had stockings as a child – and the thing I remember most is the box of animal crackers and fruit!
In fact, I have continued this with my girls every year – in addition to little toys and sweets. I also put in a new toothbrush and cute socks for Christmas morning.
I still have a stocking for myself
And I need a wallet so I will keep this one!
If I get the wallet, I’m going to hang it up in hopes that it will get stuffed!
I still have the stocking that my mother made for me when I was born. She made them for myself and each of my brothers. I love it! I remember each year getting a small piece of jewelery in my stocking. The older I got the better the stuff got. LOL With my girls each year’s stocking is guaranteed to have a new fun toothbrush, chocolate coins, and some fun bath toys/products. Of course there’s a few other tchotchkes but the above are there every year without fail. As for the wallet – as much as I would WANT to keep it – I would send it along to my mom. She’s been extremely sick this year and needs a cute pick me up.
Abbie! They don’t have any bags in stock!!!! ARGH!!!!!!
I bet if you contact Jessica through her email link at the bottom of their site, she could get you fixed up with a bag.
YEAH!!!! I really like these…I think my big girls would too. Great suggestion just in time for Channukahmas (yes – we celebrate them both.)
My favorite stocking stuffer or memory was we always got a granny smith apple, peppermint lifesavers, and a big candy cane stick. Those were from each of my grandparents, and I now give my kids the same thing. And we keep the tradition going. I still give my grandmother her candy cane stick, one Christmas that was all she got when she was little.
We did stockings when I was younger-and my mom still does them for us. We always got underwear, chapstick, and some type of good smelling stuff! We do stockings for our little ones too and the only tradition so far with them is a toothbrush. Hope to start more traditions though this year!
I always got an apple, an orange, and some candy, plus a little gift or two in my stocking as a kid. With D though, I do new toothbrush, new socks and undies, and a few little toys. I can’t wait for him to see the toys I got him this year!
Our stockings were always stuffed with nuts and fruit as a kid! LOL I realize now that that had more to do with filling the stocking and saving money!
We always got other things like, a toothbrush, Garbage Pail Kids cards were a huge hit one year! lol My brother got baseball cards too. Now, I do the same with the kids. Like Haley might get a DS game in hers this year and the boys will probably get some trains. James and I don’t really do stockings for each other. We might this year though. Maybe if I just tell him to do it, he will! lol The wallet is super cool! I think if I win I might pass it on to my sil for her Christmas present. Maybe…. or I might keep it! LOL
We always got practical stuff in our stockings as kids.
An orange
a carrot with the green on it
toothbrush
toothpaste
socks
a book
and a few little toys
I’m doing the same for my kids too. But we never believed in Santa growing up, and I’m not really pushing it on my kids. They will know the stocking came from mom if they ask!
I will probably keep the wallet because it’s rockin’. And my current one just screams, “MOM!”
I hated getting stockings when I was little. Why? Because my mom used to stuff them with fruit and nuts. Every year, there would be an orange and a bunch of pecans. What child wants THAT for Christmas? That was just epic mom fail! I didn’t really get into stockings until I met my husband. Our first Christmas together, he made one for me when I told him I didn’t have one. Yes, he MADE one. He took one of his socks (washed of course) and wrote Makita in glitter on it. How could I not marry him after that? He stuffed it with tootsie rolls and a pair of earrings. Unfortunately, we had a mouse who decided he wanted to gnaw through my stocking one year while it was in our storage unit. But I still have the memory. I don’t stuff my own stocking because I like the surprises my boys and hubby put in there for me. But I stuff theirs with little hot wheels cars, candy, and stickers. For the hubby, I stuff his with little accessories like mini tools.
My brothers and I always got LifeSavers books in our stockings and my mom still gives them to us to this day as a joke.
Oh! The lifesaver books! I forgot about those. They were a Christmas staple in out family for years!
My fave as a kid as getting pecans and oranges. Of course there was other stuff. but the pecans and orange are what stayed consistent. I put crayons and a coloring book in my son’s every year, and usually some hot wheels toys. If I do win…. I will pass it along ot my mom. She has done a lot ot help me this year, and it’s the least I could do.
I still get my favorite stocking stuffers!
My mom does stockings for everyone in the family, including candy, fruit, little manicure kits, lotions, and little toys to keep us entertained.
I may give the wallet to her if I win it.
Every year we got pistachios, chocolates and those books of lifesavers. My favorite stocking stuffer is perfume. I still have a stocking now, but we usually don’t fill them like we do for the kids. This year my kids are getting their favorite fruit and chocolates, and probably some art type gifts – stickers, stamps, small crafts, etc.
If I win, I’ll have to keep the wallet for myself. I haven’t had a new one in 7 years! Maybe this is my lucky year!
Stockings were my fave part of Xmas as a kid. THere was always the usual – candies, key rings, bits and bobs – but then Santa would bury something REALLY wonderful in and around all the stickers and lollies. One year it was tickets to see MC Hammer in concert. One year was a pair of tiny ruby stud earrings (my birth stone) and my most memorable year was a promise letter for horse back riding lessons.
We always got little things in our stockings for the whole week before Christmas. I loved it. I usually put little toys, and a whole bunch of candy in the stockings for my kids!
We always got Lifesavers books.
I have a stocking now that usually gets stuffed with candy and movies.
For my kiddo, he usually gets Hot Wheels cars and a travel game. I also stuff other stockings with Bath & Body Works stuff (since I work there pt).
If I won, I’d probably give it to one of the amazing ladies who has helped me out this year with my kiddo when I’m working or studying.
It’s sad but, I don’t really remember my stocking as a kid. But, for my girls they get candy, Spinbrushes, and a few small toys. I put different types of candy in my husbands. As for mine, it’s always empty.
We always had stockings when we were little. My grandma always filled them with an apple, orange, candy cane and $1. My mom still has stockings for us now…she usually puts lotto tickets in them and some other goodies.
Apples. Every year amongst all the other randomness in the stocking, there was always an apple. Of all the stockings I tore through growing up, all I really remember of the contents were those apples. They weren’t special apples, and I probably saw it them sitting on the kitchen counter days before, lol, and Im sure I thought it was lame every year, but now that I look back, Im like the predictability of one thing that always was there. I think my kids will get apples as well.
We did have stockings as a child! I remember always getting an apple or orange in the bottom for filler hehe! We do have stockings not but santa doesnt stuff them =( If I win I would keep the wallet! My current one doesnt like to stay closed~!
I always got a stuffed animal each year. I would love to win this for my future sister-in-law. They are perfect for her!
As a kid I always got a toothbrush and toothpaste in my stocking, that was a given. And all sorts of other little stuff like nail polish, nail files, note pads and pens, and of course a lifesaver book.
I have carried on these things with my kids. I hope they will do the same for their kids too.
I made all of our family’s stockings and my husband fills them with way too much chocolate. I throw in a toothbrush to help offset his love of candy!
We had stockings that always had an orange and some other fruit, straight out of the fruit bowl in the kitchen! My parents always put in some maple sugar candy too, mmm. Then stuff like lotions, nail polish, small accessories, etc. I do have a stocking as an adult but I dunno that DH will buy anything to put in it!
I still get stockings stuffed at my parents house and sometimes Chad and I fill stocking for each other. For the kids, we stuff them with a little of everything…small toys, useful things like chapstick, a little candy, fruit, snacks, etc. That was always one of my favorite parts of Christmas.
I think one of my mom’s favorite things on Christmas morning was watching us empty our stockings. She’s a great gift giver anyway, but she loved to buy little trinkets all year long for my sister and me. I always got cute things. And she still does it, too. Now I get a lot of purse sized things and small kitchen gadgets. Love stocking stuffers!
When I was married to my ex, he put a harmonica in my son’s stocking every year – hoping to turn him into a musician just like him. It soon became an annoying joke to my son who turned 18 last year and had everyone in the entire family purchase a harmonica for his dad, wrap it up and put it under the tree. He finally got the picture.
As far as the wallet – I would totally keep it! I had a lovely Slaughterhead wallet and it was stolen from my purse – I was more sad about the wallet than the money!
I stuff stockings with loads of junk – dollar store stuff & candy (I’m thinking this year some tiny booze too…adults only hehe).
(I will be keeping the kick butt wallet for myself if I’m the lucky winner.)
Growing up, we always got a new, special Christmas ornament in our stockings. Now I do that for the kids…and I get to pick out my own ornament for my stocking
Well my favorite thing to put in our stocking is CHOCOLATE, especially REESES! as a kid I always looked forward to flavored lip gloss, and art supplies, or maybe my new favorite CD. Geoff and I have stockings, and I try to put candy and a book or magazines in them. My girls usually get tiny toys, crayons, chap stick, cutsie socks. I love CHRISTMAS!
My favorite stocking stuffer I received as a child was always hair ties. I was always loosing them and having to use rubber bands so they were a blessing. I don’t have a stocking but I plan to get one soon. This will be the first year I get to stock my DS’s stocking and I plan to put socks, hot wheels and a toothbrush in his stocking. I would totally keep the wallet for myself I have had the same small wallet for like 10 years because I can’t bring myself to buy a new one. Thank you for doing this giveaway!!!
As a child I LOVED getting new chapsticks. LOL If you understood my chipstick addiction you would understand why this was so thrilling for me. LOL I do have a stocking, but it doesn’t really get stuffed now unless Matt decides he’s going to be sneaky. For the kids I hit up the dollar spot at Target the other day for fun cutesy little things I think they will enjoy. Yes! We celebrate Christmas every year =) I will keep the wallet because I’ve been needing a new one for a while now.
When i was a child we always got bathroom stuff and nail stuff and makeup. As we got older we would get small gifts like jewelery. Now i just do stockings for my dogs and fill them with toys and treats. they love them.
As a kid my Mom always put an orange in my stocking. We were supposed to go through our stockings before we woke them up. I swear she put that in there to try and delay me a little bit
Growing up my stocking always had Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum, Lifesavers, a chocolate santa, lip gloss, and various other little trinkets! I loved getting my stocking, it was so exciting! Now my husband fills my stocking up! I always get so excited on Christmas morning when I see that it is filled because I always think he won’t so I try not to look forward to it, but every single year it is filled!
Every year in my stocking, I get dreidels from my mom. We don’t celebrate Hanukkah, it’s just kind of a cute family thing that she always does. I have no idea how it started. LOL I also have a coffee mug that sings The Dreidel Song when you pick it up. LOL
What was your favorite one you received as a child? – I always looked forward to the ornaments. Yep, I’m weird….I still have all those ornaments today and its a really fun tradition.
Do you have a stocking as an adult? – Yes but there’s rarely much in it.
What are you stuffing stockings with this year? Do you not celebrate Christmas? – Oranges and toothbrushes…and maybe a trinket or two for each kiddo. Probably socks for hubby.
Then tell me about what you will do with the wallet if you win. Will you keep it or pass it on to a friend? – I think I get to gift it to a friend!
Di – you need to stuff your own! Then you get all the things you like!
I don’t remember ever getting stocking stuffers. I remember our old hand lettered stockings hanging up every year but nothing in them. I plan on giving my boys little presents….just some tiny little treasures….bakugan toys, transformers, crayons…just some little trinkets. If I win this lovely wallet, I’ll stuff it in my stocking.
i just wanna win this time. i wanna. i wanna.
ME I would love to get one. We don’t do stockings at our house though. We have stockings at my inlaws.
One of my favorite stocking treasures as a kid was the “book” of lifesavers! To my kids, I give treats, a new spin brush (toothbrush) and a few little trinkets. My hubby and I always put thoughtful/useful gifts in each others stockings. As for the home for the wallet, I would be keeping it, I could really use a new one! They are too cute!
While my family didn’t do too much with stocking stuffers (usually a savings bond), my MIL is a stocking stuffer fanatic! They are stuffed to overflowing (even now as adults). She runs the gamut from socks to knitting needles, to pens. Usually nothing too fancy or expensive, but the time she must spend picking out items for everyone. It’s so thoughtful!
We just started having stockings last year at my in-laws’ house. I like giving people gourmet chocolates and tiny moleskines or art supplies. Anything crafty.
When I was a pre-teen, I wanted that red, triangle-shaped bottle of Liz Claiborne parfume soooo badly. Imagine my surprise when I got Tea Rose in my stocking and my mom got the Liz Claiborne in hers. I tried not to act upset, tried to love my Tea Rose that my dad had picked out. However, my mother could see right through me. I was a pre-teen after all. She traded me.
Forgot to answer last question: I’m afraid I’d have to keep that wallet for myself. I don’t own anything really “hip,” so this would be a great style booster. LOL
My stockings were always filled with some of my favorite items. I loved opening them on Christmas morning. They always seemed to hold the most magic for me. I distinctly remember the belief that Santa filled those stockings! And my family always had the motto “once you stop beliving, you stop receiving, so my siblings and I still talk like Santa is real!
We always got little stocking stuffers…nothing too fancy or special, just like a little “primer” to open before the big gifts!
Those wallets are great! I’m not even ashamed to say that I’d keep it for myself if I won!
What was your favorite stocking stuffer you received as a child? Loves baby soft perfume. Do you have a stocking as an adult? Yes but, there usually isn’t anything in it. What are you stuffing stockings with this year? I got some stuff at World Market. (Eye Pops! (Blow into this Crazy Croc and watch it’s eyes rise), Finger Clackers (things you stick on your finger and the balls clack together), Balloon car racers, Lighted Key Chains in the shapes of animals, Big glitter balls & Big princess bling rings.) Do you not celebrate Christmas? We do celebrate Christmas. If you don’t believe, you don’t get! Then tell me about what you will do with the wallet if you win. Will you keep it or pass it on to a friend? I will keep it and wrap it and put it under the tree from “Santa”. Merry Christmas!!
Growing up our stockings always had a Mandarin Orange (which has to be eaten first), a Candy Cane and a Lifesavers Story Book and a Christmas Ornament. The rest of the contents would vary from one year to the next. I’ve carried the “necessary” contents tradition with my daughter. I love love love traditions….
My mom made stockings for my sister and I when we were born. She has continued the tradition with my husband and my kids. The are very beautiful! I think my favorite stocking stuffer as a child would have to be pez candy and the different holders for the candy!
