The Little Box of Knitted Gifts *WINNER*

I recently asked you lovely readers about your plans for Christmas shopping and I was so thrilled to see how many of you are focusing your crafty efforts on giving handmade gifts this year.  I love you guys for that!

When I came across The Little Box of Knitted Gifts today, I just knew that I had to give it away to some lucky Green Wife reader!  It’s just perfect for my knitting readers looking for fun, quick things to knit up for the lucky people on their lists.

It’s a cute little box full of 20 patterns for things like scarves, mittens, hats, dishcloths and more.  The best part?  Each pattern is on its own card that you can toss in your knitting bag.  No more toting a big book along with you!

So, to enter the drawing just comment (one time only, please) and tell me when you begin to decorate for the holidays.  No entries after 5pm tomorrow, please. I will choose a winner randomly on the evening Wednesday, November 18th.

**The contest is open to anyone who can find a use for the prize and is not limited based on religious beliefs. The only person ineligible to win this prize is….me. ;)

And the winner is…..#9!

Congratulations, Cheyenne!  Please contact me within 14 days to claim your prize.

  1. I try to start the weekend after Thanksgiving since I usually have help around then. If we go elsewhere for Thanksgiving, then I try to start sorting things out to put up the week after Thanksgiving.

  2. Um I’ve already started. :) We won’t have our son on the weekend again until the 1st weekend in Dec., and with dinner parties and everything else, I want the house to look festive. I love this time of year!

  3. I usually start decorating the first week of December.

  4. We will start the weekend after Thanksgiving….not before! Its fun to focus on Thanksgiving first, and fun to see what the kids come up with as a result. Now….gift wise….I’ve started a bit ago, otherwise I’ll never be finished! Hoping to give nearly all hand crafted gifts this year.

  5. this year i’m feeling kinda grinchy and probably won’t decorate until the very last minute.
plus my kids have decided they don’t want anything to do with that whole santa thing anymore, so…that knocks out half of it. haha

  6. I think we’re going to decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving!

  7. I usually start decorating the day after Thanksgiving but this year is different so I am decorating the weekend before. Cannot wait! I Love the Holidays!

  8. Sometime after turkey day (when we go oot for xmas – not at all).

  9. I decorate early December and take it down the week after Christmas. I love the decorations but it can make my house feel even smaller.

  10. I usually put up decroations a week or so before Christmas. I always intend to do it sooner but it never happens

  11. Usually right after Thanksgiving…I LOVE Christmas time!!

  12. Well we don’t celebrate the holidays in our home, but I do LOVE to knit :) I would love to still be comsidered for the draw, I’d love some mitt, hat and slipper patterns to make for my family for this winter :)

  13. We have a Santa that we never take down :)

  14. We start decorating the first weekend in December!

  15. We start decorating the day BEFORE Thanksgiving; but we make and collect decorations ALL year long!!! We have a 9 month old, a 2 1/2 year old, and an 8 year old; and with each year I get more and more excited to show them all the shiny, bright, sometimes worn and old items that represent each year.

  16. I dont decorate becuase i have no one to decorate for. I dont even celebrate it. kinda depressing.

    Pick ME!!!!

  17. i generally start to decorate any day i have free after thanksgiving. Nothing too rushed as I want to enjoy the decorations with the fam.

  18. One year hubby and I purchased a Christmas tree at Target in the first few days of November — before they even got the trees out on display! We literally took it off the stocker’s cart as he wheeled them out! We don’t usually decorate quite so early…this year I plan to start sometime between Thanksgiving and the first week of December. Oh, but my three-year-old and I have already sampled our Christmas music this year. My dad refuses to make use of any good weather we might get before Thanksgiving to put up the Christmas lights and insists it cannot be done until *after* Thanksgiving even if that means he’ll be putting them up in the snow.

  19. Our household holiday decorating begins with the purging of the attic. Our attic literally explodes into the rest of the house as all the containers come downstairs. Then comes the frenzy of pulling decorations out and putting away the normal things. Our Christmas tree is pretty cool, with handmade foam gingerbread men and a crochet “popcorn” garland with wooden cranberry beads. But with everything that has to be set out, if we start decorating at Thanksgiving, we may be done by New Year’s! LOL!
